WH Smith have moved into Washington Square Workington and opened in October 2010. They occupy on a 10 year lease at a commencing rent of £55,000 with a turnover rent top up. The letting required the combining of 2 smaller units and the construction of a small extension for a goods lift.
The former Ethel Austin unit at 5 Campbell Savours Way Washington Square Workington has been relet to Brighthouse on a 10 year lease from July 2010 on a stepped rent increasing to £57,500pa.
In conjunction with Allerdale Borough Council Riddelltps Limited have introduced exciting street theatre on a monthly basis. The acts have included gorilla’s, singing nuns and ‘man in a box’ all of which were new to Workington. In 2010 footfall saw a 3% increase and averaged over 100,000 visitors per week.
