GARETH RIDDELL COMPLETES JOHN O' GROATES TO LANDS END CYCLE RIDE (JOGLE)
Earlier this year, in a moment of madness, Gareth declared his intention to complete a major adventure to mark his 45th year on this planet. This was driven in part by the desire to raise some well needed funds for an extremely good local cause called “The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust” based at Millington, near Lymm, Cheshire.
The Trust provides free adventure breaks and activities to children who are disadvantaged by illness, disability and poverty.
Unlike the larger charities they rely TOTALLY on donations!!

Patrons to this charity include Sir Bobby Charlton, Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff, Jason Manford and Farokh Engineer, to name but a few.
In terms of the event, Gareth and two friends commenced their adventure on Thursday 26th August 2010 and completed it on Tuesday 7th September . They were UNSUPPORTED and carried all their own equipment.
The main details of the ride are as follows:
Distance : 1,097 miles ;
Climbing : 42,018 feet;
Calories Burnt : 76,265;
Top Speed : 43.8 MPH
Total Ride Time : 80 hrs 44 mins ( 12 Days)
100 miles were added to the journey as they also travelled through both the Isles of Skye and Arran.
A very big thank you to all who have supported this adventure and made a donation . The Childrens Adventure Farm Trust are delighted with the amount raised which currently stands at £3,260!!
All of the donation goes to the charity as the riders self funded all their travel and accommodation.
