Acting on behalf of Blackmarsh Properties, Riddelltps acquired The Market Place Shopping Centre, in Blackwood, South Wales for £14 million in April 2006

• The property comprises a shopping centre anchored by a supermarket with 12 retail units, ten kiosks and an outdoor market providing approximately 76,600 sqft of retail and ancillary accommodation, adjoining the town’s principal transport interchange.
• Approximately 70% of the total income is secured against national multiple retailers, including Boots, Somerfield, Arcadia, Peacock’s and Iceland.
• Approximately 90% of the current income is secured until at least 2015.
• The Centre provides a number of active asset management opportunities to improve tenant mix and enhance the rental income. Riddelltps have been retained as Day-to-Day managers as well as Asset Managers for the centre.
