Walkergate, Durham

Walkergate has recently been sold to a private consortium of investors for £28 million on behalf of PJKI Ltd. Riddelltps had previously advised PJKI on the original funding of the Walkergate development.

• Walkergate comprises a major mixed-use development in the heart of Durham City Centre, which included 35 new apartments, a 103-bed hotel, a 500 space multi-storey car park and eight bar/restaurant units.
• Tenants includes Wetherspoons, Utopian Leisure, ASK, Nando’s, Chiquito’s, Café Rouge, Laurel Pub Company, Thornton Inns and Meteor.
• Walkergate will form a fitting extension to the city’s Millennium project which includes the Gala Theatre, Centre for Lifelong Learning and Millennium Place and is regenerating a brownfield site which has been vacant for almost 40 years.
